#FiveFourTen Thick Yoga Strap Review

I Received:

I just started doing yoga again after a few years of not doing it, and one of the things I realized I had problems with was reaching my feet in a seated position. 1 because I’m overweight, and 2 because my arms are super short so it’s always been awkward for me.

That’s where the #FiveFourTen Thick Yoga Strap came in handy. I was able to loop the strap around my feet, grab on and stretch it out. Seriously I didn’t know how much it would help until I was able to try it.

The cloth is a little stiff but I think that with time it should loosen up a bit – it is brand new after all. It’s sturdy and for me, who is only 5’5″ the length of 8 inches is perfect. The metal D ring is really nice too, I’m easily able to adjust the size as I go and I don’t feel like I’m going to break it.

Final Verdict: I can’t wait to take this to an actual Yoga class, so far it’s been helpful when I do Yoga in my living room and I can’t wait to give it a full run in an actual class. I love that it’s made well, and if for whatever reason it breaks or needs to be repaired I’m covered by a life time warranty.

#EatSmartScale – Precision Body Check Bathroom Scale Review

The Box Included:

If this was a movie this is where I would burst into song about how many scales does one person need. I know, I know. Only one, but I couldn’t resist reviewing this one when I was presented the opportunity.

The #EatSmartScale has tons of features, which would have been super overwhelming if setting them up wasn’t super freakin’ easy. Like you hit a button a couple of times, select your Gender/Athlete (they define an athlete as someone who trains 3x a week), select your activity level on a scale of 1-5, put your height in, your age, and then you’re done.  I set my profile up without even reading the instructions, I know blasphemy right!?

I did have to go back and take a look at what the little Gender/Athlete icons meant because I wasn’t sure why it kept showing me the Athlete icon – which is tied into your gender. You can either be a male, male athlete, female, or female athlete – which confused me a lot I couldn’t figure out why there were double options for the athlete (because the icon looks the same).

The EatSmart Precision Body Check Bathroom Scale w/ 400 lb. Capacity, BMI and Step Off Technology  also has storage for up to 8 profiles. I’m learning that the ability to store profiles, and some of the other features are pretty standard on Mid to High priced scales. But they are totally worth the price. It’s worth it to know that you can store your stats and get an accurate reading and not have to worry about what would happen if someone else stepped onto the scale. Literally it will recall who you are once you step onto the scale barefoot.

Product Description:
The EatSmart Precision Body Check Digital Body Analyzer is not your ordinary bathroom scale because it quickly and easily measures weight, body fat, body water, body muscle, BMI, bone mass, and estimated caloric intake using electrode technology. This scale is perfect for individuals who are serious about taking control of their health.

The Precision Body Check Digital Body Analyzer Scale stores up to 8 different users personal profiles and will be able to recognize these users as soon as they step onto the scale. This auto recognition software makes it simple to operate, since all you have to do is stand on the platform barefoot and it identifies who you are based on past weight. Not having to select a user gives it the same functionality as a basic bathroom scale with added benefit of BMI, % body fat, % body muscle, % body water, bone mass and estimated caloric intake. The daily caloric intake estimate calculates how many calories are needed to maintain your weight.

Other features include a sturdy white glass platform, an athlete mode for very active users and when a weight locks in, the scale will beep allowing the user to step off and have an easy view of the readout.

Let’s not forget about its universal EatSmart features! The Precision Body Check Digital Body Analyzer uses “Step-On” technology, which means no more tapping to turn on your scale. It measures up to 400lbs and will display an accurate readout to the nearest .2 lbs. on the over sized 3.7″ LCD display. Its sleek design and slim profile fits perfectly into any surrounding.

Final Verdict: I couldn’t be happier with this scale. It does all the things that I want it to do, and some I didn’t even know I wanted a scale to do.  The design is very modern looking, and it doesn’t take up a lot of room in my bathroom. Best part is, because it’s not clear glass, you can’t tell when it gets smudged or if there’s a tiny little spec of lint underneath it. Something that was driving me nuts about my other scale.

#SmartWeigh Digital Bathroom Scale and Body Composition Monitor Review

The Box Included:

For the past 6 months or so I’ve really been focusing on losing weight and getting healthier and in better shape. One of the most critical tools for that job for me, is a scale. I’m the type of person who likes to see results and likes to have tangible data for how I’m doing. What better way then with a scale that tracks not only my weight, but my BMI, muscle and bone mass, body fat and how much water I’m carrying.

Seriously, this thing has tons of bells and whistles and is super easy to set up and get to using. The glass design is really nice, I wish it wouldn’t smudge so easily but hey nothing that a soft cloth won’t clean up. It’s also not bulky or cheap looking, which with a price tag of $45.00 I would sure hope not.

The back light makes it super easy to see what your numbers are. It also glows red or green depending on if you’ve gained or lost weight (something I myself personally haven’t set up but it’s an interesting feature.) Also the Smart Weight Digital Bathroom Scale – has an internal memory for up to 6 separate users, which is nice since my boyfriend is also trying to get in shape so he’ll be able to keep track of his own stats without interfering with mine.

Product Description:
Get fit with the Smart Weigh Digital Body Fat scale! This scale provides users with the information they need to maintain a healthy lifestyle. The body composition monitor utilizes advanced technology to give the most accurate measurements of body weight, BMI, body fat, water, muscle and bone mass. Simply step on the scale and within seconds get instant, helpful readings. Body analyzer has a unique modern design, sure to fit perfectly into any household décor and is made from strong tempered glass, offering a stable and durable weighing surface with a capacity of 200kg / 440lbs. Measurements are displayed on the blue backlit LCD in large visible numbers (no more bending down to see) and can be shown in 3 weighing modes: lb, kg and st:lb. Body fat digital scale comes equipped with energy saving auto shut off and low battery indicator, and ships with 4 x AAA batteries and a two year warranty.

Final Verdict: I love it! It does the job efficiently and looks very nice in my bathroom. Much better than the old school scale we had before. The price tag is a little bit steep, but it is worth it for all the bells and whistles you get with it. Plus the 2 year warranty is super handy to have.

imPRESS Ultra Nail Review

The box included:

  • 1 Box of Nails – Harlem Shake – $7.99
    • 24 nails + 6 accent nails
    • 12 sizes
    • Prep pad
    • Mini file
    • Manicure stick
  • 1 Box of Nails – So, So Stellar – $7.99
    • 24 nails
    • 12 sizes
    • Prep pad
    • Manicure stick

My nails are short and I constantly bite them, which is a disgusting habit that I’ve been trying to break myself of for years. So when I was offered the chance to review imPRESS Nails through Brand Backer, I jumped on the chance.

My experience with fake nails is limited to when I had them done in a nail salon for Jr Prom (which was over 10 years ago now). So my biggest concerns were that they would take forever to put on, and that when I took them off they would hurt.

I was so wrong on both counts. It only took me about 10 minutes to put them on. I could have probably taken less time except the first time I put them on I put them on upside down and had to peel them off to put them back on again.

The biggest problem I had is getting used to the length, and these were the “workable” length. I could have filed them down but because I put them on the wrong way the first time the tops were a little bendy and I wasn’t sure if I would ruin them. I did wear them around the house all day and prepared dinner in them – so for someone who is used to longer nails they would be perfect!

Final Verdict: While I learned that press on nails are not for me, they are really really nice. And at only $7.99 a box, with enough in each box to do 2 manicures as long as you can fit into the extra nails, they are a really great price. I won’t be wearing imPRESS Nails every day I think I will break them out for special occasions and when I just need to feel a little extra glamorous.

Note: Thanks to imPRESS Nails for sending me the product in exchange for a fair review.

MKGlam VoxBox Review

Before (both with glasses and without)

As you can see I’m pretty pale and have red cheeks and some other red areas. So I figured that most of this stuff since it’s in this seasons pallet (warm and sun-kissed tones, soft peachy pinks and bold corals – description directly from Influenster!) it would probably either wash me out or just look garish on me. I was pleasantly surprised though!

I started out by putting on my conceler like I normally do, and skipped over using my normal powder to try out the translucent powder. I don’t know about anyone else’s experience with loose powder, it’s not something I use often – so I almost spilled the whole thing on myself when I opened it up! After I got that fixed up though, I noticed that it had a sifter on it which is supposed to help with the powder getting everywhere – and once I shook it all down some it seemed to help.

Next up was the blush and the bronzer. Since my cheeks, forehead and chin are often rosy I was really really worried that the pink blush would just add to the redness. But it honestly helped even it out a little bit and made it so I could extend my redness for lack of a better word. The bronzer was so silky to put on and was able to make the redness in my cheeks a lot less noticeable.

Normally I don’t wear eyeliner so I wasn’t too sure how to go about using the Gel Eyeliner that was included with this box.  I knew I wanted to go with a winged look or something like that so with that in mind I looked at a couple different tutorials online, in the end I ended up using The Perfect Cat Eyeliner Beginners Crash Course from Preen (if you click the link it’ll open in a new window).

Pictures with just the eyeliner on because WOOT for having my eyeliner game on point for being a noobie!

I think that looks pretty good. If I do say so myself!

Okay so then I just had to put the finishing touches on. The cream eye shadow I cannot say enough good things about. It was a shimmery gold color once I put it on, and honestly I feel like it will become a main stay in my make up routine, because it looks good with just about everything.

The lip gloss was just way to much of an orange-y red for my coloring though. (Even writing this I’m thinking of that dude from Project Runway who calls one of the other contestants pretencious because she’s like “It’s kind of a blood orange” and he’s like “Shut up it’s fucking red!” LOL)
Anyway for the sake of this review I put the Mango Tango lip gloss on and while I didn’t hate it, I didn’t love it either. It wasn’t tacky feeling like some lip glosses are, and it smelled amazing (like vanilla) BUT it did bleed a little bit and it did stain my lips after I wiped it off.

Final look (both with glasses and without)

Before and After (no glasses because of reasons)

Final Verdict: Love the products. I will be looking to order more Mary Kay products in the future. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and the price. While it’s not drug store prices it’s also not something that is super outrageous that I would never pay. Plus it makes me look foxy as fuck. I’m pretty sure I will be adding the eyeliner into my daily routine from here on out, it really seems to make my eyes pop.

NOTE: Thanks to Influenster for sending me the products to try for free in exchange for a fair review. (Also please note that this review is from 2014)
